One Day in London

mhopkins310

One day in London is never enough, but when it's all you're going to get-YOU MAKE THE MOST OF IT!

We started off our day with a super early morning leaving Paris by way of the Eurostar at 6 a.m. The Eurostar or "Chunnel" as many refer to it as is a fun and unique experience. It's wild to know that you are underwater when it gets dark outside your window. If you are arriving by train, the London train station is beautiful in itself so stop for a moment before leaving to take it all in.

We began our London Day by grabbing an Uber from the train station to the London Eye. We chose this as our starting point to see as much as possible in about 8 hours. We took in the magic of Big Ben while walking across the bridge headed to Westminster Abby. It is surreal and hard to fully believe you are standing there if you are a Royal Family Fanatic like myself. I had to relive William and Kate's wedding for a moment before walking into the church. Thankfully, we were able to do a self guided tour and take lots of pictures. By the way, the Westminster Abby gift shop was my favorite of the day.

For lunch we found the cutest English pub, "The Albert" where I had fish and chips and my husband had Shepard's pie. After lunch, we walked over to Buckingham Palace. From Buckingham Palace, we walked around 4 miles through Hyde Park to Kensington Palace. This is the part of the day where we just slowed down and enjoyed the walk and all of the beautiful scenery. Arriving at Kensington Palace, we were able to do a small tour of the front apartment. Next, we took an Uber to Harrods. Harrods is massive and you could probably spend an entire day inside exploring.

We ended our day here buying souvenirs and heading back to the train station for our 8 p.m. train ride back to Paris. It was the best day and we will for sure be back one day!
